REGIONAL CHEMBER OF ECONOMY NIŠThe Regional Chember of Economy Niš is a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia. It covers the area of 7867 m2 in the south-east part of Serbia including three administrative regions called Nisavski, Pirotski, Toplicki, with populatio of 650 thausands residents in 787 settlements.The seat is situated in Niš, and the branch offices of the RCR Niš are located in Prokuplje and Pirot.
Regional Chamber of Economy of Niš is an independent, economic interest and professional representation of enterprises and entrepreneurs as well as all other types of business and professional organisations and associations. It is a non-profit, non-governmental, non-political organisation.
All the activities at the Regional Chamber of Economy Niš are conducted through its associations, boards and centres. Associations gather member companies and enterprises in branches based on similar economic interests, and their main activity is to articulate needs and problems of different economy areas. Associations:
• energetics, metal and electronic industry
• construction, construction material and public utilities
• agriculture, food industry, tobacco industry and water supplies
• forest industry, wood processing, cellulose and paper industry
• graphic, newspaper and publishing industry za grafičku industriju
• entrepreneurs and craftsmen
• textile, garment, leather and footwear industry
• trade, catering, transport and tourism
• information technologies and telecommunications
• chemical, pharmaceutical and rubber industry, mining and non-ferrous industry
Affairs and tasks of associations:
• observing and analysing economic trends in the association economic sector and suggesting measures for improvement of business management and performance of members
• debating and giving opinion on the drafts of laws and other regulations related to the economic system, economic policy and development from the point of view of their influence on business conditions and development of the association economy branches
• cooperation in the preparation of economic policy measures and development strategies related to the association activities
• activities in the field of business matchmaking and development of cooperation relations in the country and abroad
• providing help in the exchange of goods, product range and quality of goods
• observing world accomplishments in the field of technical and technological development in the association economy sectors and their implementation in the country
• implementation of international technical standards and norms
• cooperation in elaborating energy and material balances
• debating and suggesting measures for the unique regulation of working conditions and managment of big technical and technological systems of economic infrastructure
• participation in building mechanisms for protection of domestic production
• giving initatives and suggesting measures for elimination of monopoly position on the domestic market Boards and Centres provide non-financial support and services to entrepreneurs in relation to business information, economic policy, finance, insurance, foreign economic relations (including fair and exhibition pariticipation), market opportunity, quality management, R&D, professional training and education, technological innovation, information and communication technologies.

All activities conducted at the RCE Niš are dedicated to the support of economy in the region – they aim at the development of the sustainable and export-oriented market economy through measures promoting business start ups and strengthening of the existing companies.
The Regional Chamber of Economy Niš is independent in its activities and the majority of them implements as the lead and sole manager. Since it belongs to the Chamber System of Serbia, it often cooperates with all Serbian and foreign chambers on issues and mostly EU funded projects of regional, national or international importance. It also cooperates with other relevant institutions such as the University of Niš (or other Universities), National Service of Employment, the City of Niš, the Counties and Municipalities belonging to the region, the Regional Agency for the Development of SMEs, the Association of Craftsmen, Association of Entrepreneurs, NGOs, etc.
